Gwangsan District Council of Gwangju Begins Review of '2023 Budget Proposal'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Budget and Accounts Special Committee of the Gwangsan District Council in Gwangju Metropolitan City (Chairperson Park Miok) will begin reviewing the '2023 Budget Proposal' submitted by Gwangsan District from the 13th to the 20th.

They will review the 2023 general and special accounts, as well as the 2023 fund operation plan.

They plan to conduct thorough reviews to ensure that the valuable taxes of 410,000 Gwangsan residents are used appropriately.

The budget proposal for next year submitted by Gwangsan District is 875.5 billion KRW, an increase of 29.6 billion KRW (3.5%) compared to this year's main budget of 845.9 billion KRW.

Chairperson Park Miok stated, "Since this budget review deals with the major policies of the 8th term of the Gwangsan District government, we will carefully examine the necessity and timeliness of each project one by one. In particular, we will do our best in the review to ensure that the budget is efficiently and timely allocated to protect the health and safety of residents and to stabilize the livelihoods of self-employed and small business owners facing difficulties due to the economic downturn, as well as to recover the local economy."

Meanwhile, the Gwangsan District Council plans to finalize the 2023 budget proposal, after comprehensive review by the Budget and Accounts Committee, by submitting it to the 3rd plenary session of the 276th regular meeting to be held on the 21st.
