[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyuk-jun] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Bok-gyu) announced on the 12th that it will operate the 5th Urban Regeneration University as part of the Saengsaeng Academy program of the Urban Regeneration New Deal project until January 20 next year.
About 20 members of the resident council from the urban regeneration project target area will participate as trainees in this Urban Regeneration University.
The trainees will learn basic theories of urban regeneration such as proper understanding of urban regeneration projects, excellent cases of urban regeneration projects by type, the role of village activists, and urban regeneration and village communities.
From the 1st to the 4th sessions, in addition to basic urban regeneration education, advanced courses such as ▲ fostering urban regeneration village activists ▲ operating social economy organizations ▲ practicing resident public contest projects were conducted.
An official from the county said, "Looking back on the education courses up to the 4th session, we will fill in the lacking parts and proceed with new education," and added, "We ask for residents' continuous interest and participation in the Urban Regeneration New Deal project, which is nearing completion."
He added, "We will continue to do our best to develop and discover various programs so that sustainable urban regeneration can be achieved."
