[Asia Economy Reporter Byeon Seon-jin] A man in his 60s who damaged a police car with a fire extinguisher because he couldn't catch a taxi was sentenced to a fine similar to a summary order.

On the 10th, Judge Lee Ji-su of the Chuncheon District Court Wonju Branch Criminal Division 2 announced that he sentenced Mr. A (66), who was charged with damage to public property, to a fine of 5 million won.

Mr. A was prosecuted for allegedly hitting the sun visor attached to the passenger seat window of a patrol car with a 3.3 kg powder fire extinguisher on a road in Bukwon-ro, Wonju-si, around 9:30 p.m. on June 29, while intoxicated and unable to catch a taxi to go home. Mr. A, who received a summary order for a fine of 5 million won in July, filed a formal trial in objection to this.
