[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Air Busan will resume regular flights on the Busan-Narita route after about 32 months, starting with flight BX112 from Busan to Tokyo Narita on the 9th.
Among the airlines operating at Gimhae Airport, Air Busan will operate the largest number of Japanese routes, with 4 routes running 8 round trips daily.
Although there were some irregular flights such as the charter flight for BTS's Busan concert last October, the resumption of regular flights on the Busan-Narita route is after about 32 months.
Before COVID-19, Air Busan operated the Busan-Narita route twice daily, maintaining a steady demand for business and tourism, with an annual load factor exceeding 80%.
The resumed route schedule departs from Gimhae International Airport at 8:05 AM and arrives at Narita International Airport at 10:10 AM. The return flight departs from the local airport at 11:05 AM and arrives at Gimhae Airport at 1:30 PM. The flight time is approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes.
An Air Busan representative said, “Especially in December and January, there is high tourism demand to experience the Christmas atmosphere such as the ‘Tokyo Christmas Market’ and enjoy the beautiful night views, which led to the decision to resume operations this month.”
An Air Busan official stated, “With the swift resumption of major Japanese routes, we will further solidify our position as the strongest player on Japanese routes, and we expect a significant increase in sales as a result.”
