[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Samsung Biologics announced on the 9th that Son Boyeon, head of the Corporate Engineering team, and Cho Sungil, head of the Global IT team, have been promoted to new executive positions.

Samsung Biologics carried out next year's executive personnel appointments on the 9th. The company explained, "It is a personnel decision based on strict meritocracy to maximize business performance and accelerate the leap to becoming a global leading pharmaceutical company."

Newly appointed Executive Director Son Boyeon joined Samsung Electronics as part of the New Business Promotion Group and has served as the head of the Automation team and Corporate Engineering team since the establishment of Samsung Biologics in 2011. She has led the pharmaceutical manufacturing process design team in the plant construction field, where female talent is rare, and contributed to the timely completion of Plant 4, producing outstanding results. Recognizing these achievements, she was promoted to executive in her 40s, born in 1978.

Newly appointed Executive Director Cho Sungil joined Samsung Biologics in 2019 as head of the IT Business Support team and has been working as the head of the Global IT team since last year. He has been recognized for successfully leading company-wide IT system operations and innovation projects.

A Samsung Biologics official explained, "We aim to break away from seniority-based promotion and strengthen the personnel policy of early promotion and nurturing of young talent to operate the organization flexibly and dynamically." Samsung Biologics plans to carry out organizational restructuring and personnel appointments soon following this executive personnel announcement.
