Yeongyang-gun Conducts Joint Public-Private Inspection of Parking Spaces Reserved for Disabled Persons

Yeongyang-gun Conducts Joint Public-Private Inspection of Parking Spaces Reserved for Disabled Persons Yeongyang County Office.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Yeongyang County, Gyeongbuk, will conduct a joint public-private inspection of parking spaces exclusively for the disabled on the 9th, together with the Yeongyang County Disabled Convenience Facility Support Center.

The purpose of this joint public-private inspection is to raise awareness of violations of parking spaces exclusively for the disabled through joint inspections and crackdowns, as the number of parking violations in these spaces is increasing daily, causing inconvenience to disabled people using parking lots.

Vehicles without parking permits, vehicles with no-parking signs parked in exclusive zones, vehicles driven by guardians without disabled passengers, and violations such as placing objects or obstructing parking spaces will be the focus of the inspection.

The joint inspection team will select areas within the county with frequent civil complaints and parking violations, such as Yeongyang Market, Yeongyang Cultural Center, Yeongyang Hospital, and LH Apartments, and will conduct intensive patrols to crack down on illegal parking in disabled-only parking spaces and actively carry out guidance activities.

Oh Do-chang, the governor of Yeongyang County, said, “Through this joint public-private inspection, we aim to make people recognize that parking spaces exclusively for the disabled are spaces reserved only for disabled people to guarantee their right to mobility, and we expect this to raise public awareness against violations by non-disabled people parking in these spaces.”
