[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Ssangyong Motor announced on the 9th that it hosted a visit to the Ssangyong Motor Technical Research Center located in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, as part of the 'Industry-Academia-Research Advanced Site Tour' program organized by the International Electric Vehicle Expo, strengthening industry-academia cooperation through an electric vehicle seminar.
This event was organized by the Jeju Smart e-Valley Forum Steering Committee and hosted by the International Electric Vehicle Expo Corporation to realize the Carbon Free Island Jeju 2030 initiative. On the 8th, participants toured Ssangyong Motor's Pyeongtaek plant and technical research center, including electric vehicle research facilities, and held an electric vehicle seminar to share trends in future technology development.
The event was attended by more than 30 people, including Lee Kwangman, Chairman of the Jeju Smart e-Valley Forum Steering Committee; Kim Daehwan, Chairman of the International Electric Vehicle Expo Corporation; Jung Daeyeon, Director of the Asia Climate Change Education Center; and Kim Hoon, Advisor of the Indonesia Electric Vehicle Association.
Kim Heonseong, Executive Director of Ssangyong Motor Technical Research Center, said, "The development speed of electrified models is growing so rapidly that related infrastructure cannot keep up," adding, "In response to this paradigm shift toward electrified models, Ssangyong Motor is developing various eco-friendly technologies that prioritize customer value."
