[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] Kang Young-seok, mayor of Sangju City, was selected as the recipient at the ‘2nd Leading Farmer Return Activation Award’ ceremony held by the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation at the main building in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 9th.

The Leading Farmer Return Activation Award is one of the most prestigious awards hosted by the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation. Based on the achievements of farmer return policies by local governments nationwide, eight local government heads were selected as recipients after gathering opinions from cooperative heads and farmers, contributing to strengthening the foundation for the survival of agriculture, including increasing the agricultural population.

Gyeongbuk Sangju City has been promoting farmer return activation as a key policy, actively implementing housing support measures for returning farmers to support their stable settlement and leading efforts to resolve their difficulties. In particular, the Smart Farm Innovation Valley, completed last year, is gaining attention as an opportunity for young returning farmers to grow as regional agricultural leaders.
