Busan City Selected as '2022 Excellent Knowledge Administration Institution' ... Best Award to Yeonje-gu Busan City Hall.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City announced the results of the ‘2022 Knowledge Administration Excellence Institution’ evaluation conducted on 16 autonomous districts and counties, and will hold an award ceremony at 3 p.m. on the 9th in the 8th-floor conference room of City Hall.

Since 2009, the city has been selecting and awarding ‘Knowledge Administration Excellence Institutions (basic local governments)’ annually to accumulate administrative knowledge and experience, share best practices, and actively utilize them to foster a knowledge-based public service culture.

This selection evaluated five categories regarding the overall knowledge administration tasks of public institutions in accordance with the ‘Electronic Government Act’ and the ‘Regulations on Administrative Efficiency and Promotion of Collaboration’: ▲utilization of knowledge systems ▲use of external knowledge ▲participation in knowledge administration ▲interest reflected in budget ▲best practices.

As a result of the evaluation, ▲‘Grand Prize’ was awarded to Yeonje-gu ▲‘Excellence’ to Suyeong-gu ▲‘Encouragement’ to Nam-gu and Buk-gu, respectively.

Yeonje-gu promoted a reading culture through various methods such as regularly holding ‘Reading Workshops and Reading Discussion Meetings,’ operating ‘Reading Discussion Small Groups,’ and hosting ‘Book Report Contests’ to activate a reading culture among all employees.

Suyeong-gu was selected as an “Excellent” institution for three consecutive years due to its significantly higher utilization of knowledge systems and use of external knowledge compared to other districts.

Nam-gu held a ‘Workshop for Generational Empathy’ to understand the characteristics of the XYZ generations and to enhance awareness of an organizational culture that respects and accepts each other by understanding generational conflicts and sharing thoughts. Buk-gu received high scores by promoting the ‘Knowledge×Innovation Junior Board,’ which actively teaches excellent administrative skills that the MZ generation wanted to learn from experts, creates manuals, and distributes them to the MZ generation.

Shim Jae-min, the city’s Planning Officer, said, “We will continue to make multifaceted efforts to share work knowledge and experience and foster a collaborative workplace culture to enhance knowledge administration capabilities.”
