Cumulative Donations Totaling Over 100 Million Won Delivered to Support Treatment Costs for Twelve Pediatric Cancer Patients

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Lotte Confectionery announced on the 9th that it donated approximately 19 million won, raised through this year's campaign to collect leftover change from salaries, to the Korea Leukemia Children's Foundation for the treatment of pediatric cancer patients.
The donation amount of 18,999,118 won was created by combining about 9.5 million won collected by employees throughout 2022 and an equal amount contributed by the company. This will be used for treatment expenses and social development program support for children diagnosed with pediatric cancer and rare incurable diseases. The cumulative donations from Lotte Confectionery employees through the leftover change collection campaign, now in its 6th year, have reached a total of over 100 million won.
Lotte Confectionery's "Love Sharing Leftover Change Collection Campaign" has been carried out voluntarily by employees since August 2016. Employees autonomously collect leftover change of less than 1,000 won from their monthly salaries to accumulate donation funds as an act of neighborly love. Additionally, the company matches the same amount to create the fund through a "matching grant" system. As a result of annual donations for pediatric cancer patients, treatment support has been provided to a total of 12 children to date.
Jinseong Lee, Business Director of Lotte Confectionery, said, "The Love Sharing Leftover Change Collection Campaign, now in its 6th year, has become a representative social contribution activity of Lotte Confectionery. We plan to fulfill our corporate social responsibility by preparing various programs so that the love we have received can be shared with more neighbors in the future."
