Yuseong Hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, Reappointed as Chairman of the National Reading Cities Association

At the temporary general meeting held via video conference on the 7th, Yuseonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, was appointed as chairman; Choi Woncheol, Mayor of Gongju, and Oh Taewon, Mayor of Buk-gu, Busan, as co-vice chairmen; and Shim Deokseop, Mayor of Gochang, was reappointed as auditor.

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yuseonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, was elected as the president of the (Corporation) National Book Reading Cities Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) at the Association's extraordinary general meeting held on the 7th.


The 'National Book Reading Cities Association' is an organization founded in 2018 to promote the reading culture and create a book-reading community society by enhancing exchange and cooperation among book-reading cities nationwide.


At the extraordinary general meeting held via video conference on this day, Yuseonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, was elected president; Choi Woncheol, Mayor of Gongju City, and Oh Taewon, Mayor of Buk-gu, Busan, were appointed as co-vice presidents; and Shim Deokseop, County Governor of Gochang, was reappointed as auditor.


Since 2021, Geumcheon-gu, as the president city of the Association, has promoted excellent reading program contests for two years to support the reading projects of member cities, and held workshops and forums to strengthen the capabilities of frontline practitioners.


Mayor Yuseonghun of Geumcheon-gu said, "I feel a heavy responsibility as I have been elected again as the president city for the third term following the second," and added, "I will gather wisdom and passion with member cities to serve as a hub in creating a book-reading Korea where residents can enjoy reading anytime and anywhere in their daily lives."
