Contract with the Producer of 'Broker'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Author Kim Young-ha's novel "Farewell" is being adapted into a film.
On the 8th, Blossom Creative announced, "We have signed the film adaptation rights contract with Film Company Jip for 'Farewell'."
"Farewell" is Kim Young-ha's first science fiction novel and his first new work in nine years since "Memoir of a Murderer." Set in the near future, it emotionally depicts a world where humans and humanoids coexist. Released in May this year, it became a bestseller, selling over 200,000 copies.
Film Company Jip, which secured the adaptation rights, produced films such as "Broker," "#Alive" (2020), "Crazy Romance" (2019), and "Default" (2018).
Kim Young-ha is an award-winning author who has received the Yi Sang Literary Award, Kim Yu-jeong Literary Award, Manhae Literary Award, Dong-in Literary Award, Hwang Sun-won Literary Award, Isan Literary Award, and Hyundai Literary Award. He also appears on tvN's "Alssul Injab."
Meanwhile, Blossom Creative is Korea's first author management company representing writers including Kim Young-ha, Kim Joong-hyuk, Kim Cho-yeop, Park Sang-young, Kim Geum-hee, Jang Ryu-jin, and Cheon Seon-ran.
