[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] President Yoon Seok-yeol will preside over a live broadcasted National Task Review Meeting for 100 minutes on the 15th. This is the second time President Yoon has directly presided over a live broadcasted meeting since the 11th Emergency Economic and Livelihood Meeting on October 27, and this time, about 100 citizen panelists will also attend.

Lee Jae-myung, Deputy Spokesperson of the Presidential Office, announced the presiding of the National Task Review Meeting during a briefing at the Yongsan Presidential Office on the afternoon of the 8th, introducing it as "a format where ministers or the president respond directly to citizens' questions."

About 150 people, including 100 citizen panelists, will participate in the meeting. The panelists will be selected based on recommendations from each ministry, focusing on policy demanders.

The meeting topics are broadly divided into four categories: ▲ Economy and Livelihood ▲ Future Growth Engines ▲ Vision and Strategy for the Local Era ▲ and the three major reform tasks including pensions, labor, and education.

Deputy Spokesperson Lee explained that regarding the economy and livelihood and future growth engines, the meeting will diagnose and respond to the current state of the Republic of Korea, and will focus on export strategies including nuclear power and defense industry. He added, "For national tasks in areas such as diplomacy and security that cannot be covered this time, a second review meeting is planned for the first half of next year."

Deputy Spokesperson Lee emphasized, "We expect this to be a time for communication," and added, "By comprehensively reviewing the policies promoted before the end of the first year in office, it will serve as an opportunity to fill in the gaps that were lacking during ministry work reports and to make them more concrete."

A Presidential Office official explained the criteria for selecting citizen panelists, saying, "If ministries recommend policy demanders such as young people without housing related to real estate policy or the younger generation who have 'Yeongkkeul' (pulling together all their resources), we aim to create a forum where they can directly raise questions or issues about policies and discuss them."

Meanwhile, the Presidential Office expressed its welcome regarding the National Assembly's resolution in the plenary session on the same day to amend the Civil Act and the Framework Act on Administration concerning the unification of 'international age,' which is the 13th of the 120 national tasks of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration.

Deputy Spokesperson Lee said in this regard, "From June next year, all citizens will be one or two years younger," "As all ages are unified to international age, it is expected to align with global standards and eliminate unnecessary social and economic confusion. We thank the National Assembly for cooperating to implement the national tasks."
