Korean startups are presenting at the 2022 Startup Pitching Day held at the BMW Group Innovation Research Center (FIZ) in Munich, Germany. [Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Julian Klaus, Head of Tech Office APAC-Korea at BMW Korea, was awarded the Prime Minister's Commendation at the Trade Day ceremony in recognition of his contributions to the overseas expansion of Korean companies, the company announced on the 8th.
Klaus has worked on more than 40 projects with Korean companies across various sectors. Some of these companies became first- and second-tier suppliers to the BMW Group. The BMW Group operates a program supporting tech-related startups in six countries worldwide?including Germany, the United States, China, Israel, Japan, and Korea?that aim to develop technology or create market channels in the automotive field.
Rather than simple financial support, the program jointly verifies the commercialization potential of unfinished services or technologies from venture companies. Support is provided by purchasing released prototypes, helping startups’ technologies to expand overseas. BMW Korea introduces various Korean companies related to the automotive industry?such as those specializing in artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous driving, new materials, and manufacturing process technologies?to the BMW Group headquarters in Germany.
Julian Klaus of BMW Korea, who oversees the technology discovery projects for Korean companies, has conducted over 40 projects with Korean companies in various sectors.
