[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte announced on the 8th that it has donated 450 million KRW to the Korea Salvation Army to help underprivileged children have a warm winter.
Lotte will improve heating facilities at 80 child welfare centers and provide heating cost support to 100 locations including regional children's centers and vulnerable households nationwide. This year, anticipating a colder winter than usual, the proportion of support for renovation of regional children's centers has been increased.
The cumulative amount donated by Lotte until last year is 2.6 billion KRW, supporting heating costs for 2,242 welfare facilities and 1,288 individual households.
Lotte and the Korea Salvation Army will also conduct fundraising activities both online and offline until the 31st. Fundraising booths will be operated at six locations with high foot traffic: Lotte World Mall, Lotte Premium Outlets Time Villas, three Lotte Department Store branches (Main Branch, Dongtan Branch, Incheon Branch), and Lotte Hotel World. Donations can also be made through online channels such as the Salvation Army Charity Kettle website and Naver Happy Bean. Donors contributing 10,000 KRW or more will receive a red scarf making kit.
