The Excellent IP Manager Competition is organized by the Korean Intellectual Property Office to discover and award successful business cases of small and medium-sized enterprises that have successfully commercialized intellectual property such as patents, trademarks, and designs.
Power Automation has invested intensively in research activities every year to realize factory automation and smart factories. Through patent applications for robot technology and commercialization of patented technology, it developed and mass-produced the i-Series, an insertion robot for irregular parts. The developed equipment is recognized as a successful business case that implements factory automation and improves productivity in the automotive electronics and home appliance industries, which have been struggling with factory automation.
By commercializing its own patented technology and productizing the i-Series insertion robot for irregular parts, Power Automation has released a highly competitive product capable of inserting various special parts quickly and accurately with high press-fit force. Additionally, the advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology applied minimizes interference with inserted parts, solves the problem of incorrect insertion, and reduces losses caused by discarded parts, which has been highly evaluated.
Hwang Jang-seon, CEO of Power Automation, stated, "We will become a global top-level supplier of factory automation solutions."
