[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Lotte Department Store announced on the 7th that it will hold the first solo exhibition in Asia of emerging artist 'Alfie Kane' at the Art Hall on the 6th floor of Jamsil AvenueL from the 9th of this month until February 12th next year.

Alfie Kane, a British artist, is a rising popular artist who was also selected as the most anticipated artist by collectors this year on the art site 'ARTSY'. He showcases versatile talents, including his background as a musician who has released a single album.

The theme of this exhibition is "Moments of Silence," featuring a total of 16 large-scale new paintings. The works display Alfie Kane's characteristic rich colors and a flat yet intriguing sense of perspective. The themes of each piece are closely connected, based on the atmosphere and scenery of the area where the artist resides, personal experiences, and various settings.

Representative exhibited works include 'House on the Peninsula,' 'Entrance Overlooking the Bay,' and 'Bath then Bed,' which show different angles within the same space. These works were all produced in large sizes reminiscent of actual spatial dimensions so that visitors can more vividly experience the renewed colors.

Kim Young-ae, head of the Art Biz Office at Lotte Department Store, said, "As the international status of the Korean art scene rises, we are exhibiting works by a globally rising artist for the first time in Korea at Lotte Gallery. We will continue to actively promote domestic and international art exchanges by exhibiting works of more diverse global artists."
