First Financial Company to Partner for Tmoney-App to Physical Card Recharge Service
[Asia Economy Reporter Sim Nayoung] KakaoBank announced on the 6th that it launched a mini card T-money charging service using the KakaoBank application (hereinafter app) on the 5th.
If you are a KakaoBank mini customer, you can charge T-money and check the balance and usage history by entering the KakaoBank app and pressing the charge or inquiry button, then tagging the mini card on the back of your phone with NFC. You can charge up to 90,000 KRW at once, and the charge amount can be set in units of 1,000 KRW.
The T-money charging service introduced by KakaoBank mini is the first financial company service that allows charging a physical card transportation card through the app in partnership with T-money. With the launch of this service, teenage customers can now charge T-money anytime and anywhere through the app without using transportation card chargers installed at convenience stores or subway stations.
As of the end of November, KakaoBank mini, with 1.57 million customers, plans to establish itself as a financial life platform for teenagers by adding transportation expense management functions frequently used by teenagers. Over the past year, the average monthly T-money charge amount per KakaoBank mini customer was 18,022 KRW, which accounts for more than 20% of the average total monthly payment amount of 89,400 KRW, indicating that transportation expenses are a significant part of their spending.
To commemorate the launch of the service, an event is being held from today until the 31st, where 30,000 people will be selected by lottery to receive a 3,000 KRW charging support fund. During the event period, if you charge 1,000 KRW or more to the mini card with T-money in the KakaoBank app, you will be automatically entered into the draw. Also, if you share the event page with friends, you will be entered into a lottery to receive the 2023 Chunsik-i calendar.
A KakaoBank representative said, "We planned this service for the convenient financial life of KakaoBank mini customers," and added, "We will continue to focus on customers' voices and introduce various services that can meet the demands of financial consumers."
