An Event Scheduled to Display Lanterns Along with Flags of Participating Countries, the UN, and the Taegeukgi

[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] On the 7th, lanterns along with the flags of the participating countries, the United Nations flag, and the Taegeukgi will be floated on the Han River to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Korean War armistice next year.
On the 6th, the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs announced that it will hold a briefing session on the 'International Veterans Affairs and 70th Anniversary of the Armistice Projects' targeting 22 UN participating countries at Seorae Naru on the Han River in Seocho-gu, Seoul, ahead of the 70th anniversary of the Korean War armistice next year.
The briefing session was organized to introduce the achievements of the international veterans affairs projects promoted by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs this year and, in particular, to successfully carry out the 70th anniversary projects next year through mutual cooperation with the participating countries.
At this event, the Ministry will explain the major projects for the 70th anniversary, such as the UN Forces participation and armistice agreement 70th anniversary ceremony, and the international memorial service for UN veterans, and will request the interest and active cooperation of the UN participating countries. In addition, it will provide information on key projects including the return visits of UN veterans and exchanges with their descendants, appreciation events in the participating countries, various academic conferences, special exhibitions, and related events for future generations both domestically and internationally.
It will also introduce this year's projects such as the completion of the 'Korean War Memorial Wall' in Washington DC, USA, the return visit event of UN veterans, the UN participating countries' descendants peace camp, and the repatriation and burial ceremony of UN veterans' remains.
