[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The music video for BTS member Suga's solo track "Daechwita" has surpassed 400 million views on YouTube.

On the 5th, Big Hit Music announced that the "Daechwita" music video exceeded 400 million views around 11:30 PM the previous day.

"Daechwita" is the title track from the mixtape "D-2," released in May 2020 under Suga's stage name Agust D. The song features a unique atmosphere by blending trap beats with traditional Korean instruments such as the taepyeongso and kkwaenggwari, and it notably samples the traditional military music Daechwita (大吹打). Suga's powerful rapping, likening himself to a "tiger," is also impressive.

The "Daechwita" music video showcases Suga's dual roles set against the backdrop of Korean traditional beauty, including palaces and marketplace streets. The grand scale and Suga's geommu (sword dance) made it a hot topic upon release.

Suga became the first Korean solo artist to simultaneously enter the US Billboard main singles and albums charts with "Daechwita" and the "D-2" mixtape. "Daechwita" ranked 76th on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart (June 6, 2020), while "D-2" reached 11th on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Additionally, "D-2" ranked 7th on the UK Official Albums Chart Top 100.
