[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Dong-joo] On the 5th, Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, who marked 100 days since taking office as party leader, attended the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly and delivered a speech.
On this day, Lee said, "During the 200 days of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, which has abandoned people’s livelihood and focused solely on destroying the opposition party, politics has disappeared, and dialogue and compromise have vanished," adding, "The public will not tolerate the abuse of power entrusted to them temporarily for destroying the opposition party instead of addressing people’s livelihood," strongly criticizing the government.
Lee’s strong message is interpreted as an indirect criticism of the prosecution’s all-out investigation of opposition figures as political retaliation and 'opposition suppression.'
Lee also emphasized 'people’s livelihood' and 'democracy,' expressing his ambition by stating, "We will continue to create a new history for the Democratic Party without stopping."
