CU, Ghana Chocolate Sales Up 32.7%
‘2+1’ Promotion Until the 6th
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] As the South Korean national soccer team advanced to the Round of 16 in the Qatar World Cup, sales of 'Gana Chocolate' have surged.
According to CU on the 5th, sales of Gana Chocolate over the weekend increased by 32.7% compared to the previous week. At GS25, sales of Gana Chocolate on the 3rd rose by 46.5% compared to the 18th of last month.
The Gana Chocolate craze is due to Ghana playing a supportive role in South Korea's advancement to the Round of 16, leading soccer fans to share purchase confirmations on social networking services (SNS). CU is also running a '2+1' promotion event for Gana Chocolate until the 6th.
Since its launch in 1975, Gana Chocolate has been consistently loved by chocolate enthusiasts, recording nearly 50 billion KRW in annual sales. In fact, Gana Chocolate is produced by importing raw cocoa beans from Ghana, Africa, and processing them domestically.
