[Asia Economy, reporter Lee Isil] The Korean Film Producers Association announced on December 5 that it has selected director Park Chanwook's "Decision to Leave" as this year's Best Picture winner.


The 9th Korean Film Producers Association Awards ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on December 14 at SJ Kunsthalle in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.


"Decision to Leave" swept six awards, including Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Actress (Tang Wei), Best Supporting Actress (Kim Shinyoung), Best Lighting (Shin Sangyeol), and Best Music (Cho Youngwook).


Actor Lee Jungjae was named Best Director for his directorial debut "Hunt." The film also won a total of four awards, including Best Cinematography (Lee Mogae), Best Art Direction (Park Ilhyun), and Best Editing (Kim Sangbum).


The Best Actor award went to Ma Dongseok for "The Roundup," while Im Siwan won Best Supporting Actor for "Emergency Declaration." Director Cho Eunji received the Best New Director award for "Perhaps Love," and Kim Hyeyoon was named Best New Actor for "The Girl on a Bulldozer."


The Best Sound and Technical Achievement awards went to Kim Seokwon and Kim Eunjung, and to Jeong Doan and Lim Jonghyuk, respectively, for "Hansan: Rising Dragon." The Special Jury Prize was awarded to Kim Hyuncheol, CEO of TPS Company, the production company behind "6/45."


The Special Achievement Award was posthumously given to Kang Sooyeon, in recognition of her contributions, including appearances in over 30 films such as "The Surrogate Woman" (1987), "Come Come Come Upward" (1989), and "Road to the Racetrack" (1991), as well as winning the Best Actress Award at the Venice International Film Festival.
