CJ Group Donates 2 Billion KRW in Year-End Neighborly Love Fundraising

[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] CJ Group announced on the 5th that it has donated 2 billion KRW in neighborly love funds to the Community Chest of Korea to mark the end of the year.

The donation will be used for cultural and educational support programs for the healthy growth of marginalized children and youth, a good food support project for single-person household youth, job creation for vulnerable groups, and plastic recycling programs. Since 2015, CJ has been delivering year-end neighborly love funds to the Community Chest of Korea to fulfill corporate social responsibility through sharing, donating a total of 18 billion KRW to date.

A CJ official stated, “As the uncertain economic situation continues, we hope that the warmth of sharing will be delivered to neighbors going through difficult times, even through donations,” adding, “We will continue various support activities for vulnerable groups by utilizing the group’s infrastructure.”

Meanwhile, CJ is carrying out various activities to practice the group’s philosophy of coexistence. The CJ Sharing Foundation, CJ Group’s social contribution foundation, operates cultural education and community sharing activities to support vulnerable children and youth based on the online sharing platform ‘CJ Donors Camp.’ The ‘Kimchi Sharing’ food donation activity has been ongoing for 16 years since 2007. In addition, major affiliates such as CJ CheilJedang, CJ Logistics, and CJ ENM continue various social contribution activities, including creating jobs for vulnerable groups and supporting the activation of creator ecosystems.
