[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education will distribute the middle school admission guidebook ‘Get Ready, First Spring of Middle School’ to 6th-grade elementary school students again this year, following last year.
This middle school admission guidebook will be distributed one copy each to all 6th-grade elementary school students across Ulsan, allowing not only students but also parents to use it together.
Elementary and middle school teachers currently in service participated in creating the guidebook with the hope that students would welcome a hopeful spring of middle school instead of vague fear.
The Office of Education is also producing an English translation for multicultural family parents, and the English version booklet is being created together by teachers currently in service.
The guidebook contains a variety of information that students and parents are usually curious about, such as making the most of the 6th-grade winter vacation, preparing for middle school admission, curriculum and free semester system, reviewing school life records, evaluation methods and grade calculation, peer relationships, and career preparation and exploration.
Additionally, it was distributed along with the ‘13.5 (between 13 and 14 years old) Change Maker’ project lesson plan and activity guide to help students plan their career exploration and happy middle school life independently during the transition from 6th grade elementary to middle school.
An official from the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education said, “We have made various efforts together with current teachers so that 6th-grade students can happily finish their elementary school life and start middle school life with hope,” adding, “We expect the middle school admission guidebook to be useful not only for 6th-grade elementary students but also for their parents.”
