[Box Office] Yoo Hae-jin and Ryu Jun-yeol's 'Owl' Tops Weekend Box Office for 2nd Week

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Iseul] The movie 'Owl' maintained its position at the top of the weekend box office for two consecutive weeks.

According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticket sales network on the 5th, 'Owl' (directed by Ahn Tae-jin) attracted 553,132 viewers over the three days of the past weekend (2nd to 4th), securing the number one spot at the box office. Its revenue share was recorded at 45.7%. Since its release on the 23rd of last month, the film has accumulated a total audience of 1,763,680.

The film is a thriller depicting a one-night struggle to uncover the truth after a blind acupuncturist, who can only see at night, witnesses the death of the crown prince. It stars actors Yoo Hae-jin, Ryu Jun-yeol, and Kim Sung-cheol. The seat occupancy rate was 19.4% during its opening weekend and increased to 21.2% in the second week, maintaining steady interest.

The comedy 'Apkujeong' starring Ma Dong-seok (directed by Lim Jin-soon) attracted 214,164 viewers over the weekend, debuting at second place. Since its release on the 30th of last month, a total of 364,541 people have watched the film. 'Birth,' which was released on the same day, drew 75,364 viewers and ranked third.

Additionally, the animation 'Pororo the Movie: Save the Virus' attracted 72,969 viewers, placing fourth; the Japanese romance 'Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight' drew about 38,000 viewers, ranking sixth; 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' took seventh place; and NCT Dream's concert film 'NCT Dream The Movie: In A Dream' ranked ninth.

The total number of moviegoers who visited theaters over the weekend was counted at 1,210,542.
