[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is inviting bids from companies to supply return gifts for the Hometown Love Donation Program.
The city announced on the 5th that it will publicly recruit return gift suppliers from the 12th to the 15th of this month in preparation for the implementation of the Hometown Love Donation Program on January 1st next year.
The recruitment will proceed based on the results of the Hometown Love Donation Program Return Gift Selection Committee meeting held on the 29th of last month, where companies submit proposals during the application period, and both the return gifts and suppliers will be selected simultaneously.
The target applicants are companies with business locations in Daejeon that can stably produce and deliver return gifts, with the principle that the return gifts should be items produced or manufactured locally.
Companies can propose up to five items, and for the same product, different price ranges can be offered according to specifications.
The evaluation of suppliers will be conducted across 16 criteria in 7 categories, including corporate stability, regional linkage, alignment with business objectives, and product excellence.
The city plans to complete the selection process for return gifts and suppliers by the end of this month and provide return gifts to donors starting January next year.
Applications can be submitted by filling out the participation application form, supply proposal, and other related documents, and submitting them in person to the city's Communication Policy Division.
For more detailed information about the recruitment, refer to the announcement posted on the city hall website or contact the Communication Policy Division.
A city official stated, “We hope that many companies representing Daejeon and contributing to the revitalization of the local economy will participate in the recruitment. The city will strive to select competitive suppliers through fair and transparent evaluation.”
Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 5 million KRW annually to local governments other than their place of residence.
Donors receive a full tax credit up to 100,000 KRW, a 16.5% tax credit on amounts exceeding 100,000 KRW, and can receive local agricultural and specialty products as return gifts worth up to 30% of the donation amount.
Donations are used for welfare, culture and arts, and regional revitalization projects.
