[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] SSG.com announced on the 5th that it is holding the ‘2022 Pet Fair Awards’ special exhibition to introduce the best-selling pet products of the year.
According to data compiled by SSG.com from January to November, the bestseller in the pet product category was ‘Molly’s White Stick Gum Soft Chicken’. Stick gums are a representative snack item for dogs that are frequently repurchased, and the availability of fast delivery services such as SSG Delivery and Dawn Delivery positively influenced the high sales volume.
Looking at the detailed categories, in the dog food group, ‘Molly’s Boneless Duck Roll Stick 30P’, ‘Royal Canin Mini Indoor Adult Dog Food’, ‘Natural Material Duck Jerky Stick’, ‘Molly’s Natural Gum Hard Chicken’, ‘Nutrena Health Report Healthy Joints’, and ‘No Brand Dog Food’ ranked 2nd to 7th.
In the cat food group, large-capacity mid-priced products from domestic brands such as ‘Molly’s’, ‘Catsrang’, and ‘Probest’ ranked high in sales, while premium food, supplements, and snack products such as ‘Orijen Cat & Kitten’, ‘Royal Canin Cat Food Indoor’, and ‘Inaba Chao Churu Tuna & Bonito Flakes’ also recorded high sales rankings.
Polarization was also evident in the pet supplies group. For basic items with frequent replacement cycles like dog pads, large-capacity products from domestic brands such as ‘No Brand’, ‘Yoyoshi’, and ‘Molly’s’ ranked high in sales, but in the fashion and accessory product group such as harnesses and dog clothing, there was a strong preference for high-priced imported brands like ‘Ruffwear’.
Reflecting these trends, SSG.com will hold a special exhibition until the 11th and issue a 20% shopping cart discount coupon every day at 9 a.m. for purchases in the pet product category. In addition, it will offer up to 40% additional discounts on food, snacks, and supplies from leading domestic and international pet brands such as Molly’s Pet Shop, Royal Canin, Orijen, and Ruffwear, and provide gift benefits mainly for popular pet foods with high purchase frequency such as dog food.
Choi Hee-young, head of the Culture Service Team at SSG.com, said, “As the number of pet households conveniently ordering pets’ breakfast and snacks through SSG Delivery rapidly increased, sales in the pet category grew by about 30% compared to the same period last year. We hope customers will take advantage of this Pet Fair Awards special exhibition, prepared as a token of gratitude, to purchase popular domestic and international pet brand products at good prices.”
