Gyeonggi-do Recognized as Best Local Government for Outstanding Child Policy Performance Last Year

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi-do has been selected as the best local government for child policy.

On the 3rd, Gyeonggi-do announced that it was selected as the best local government in the evaluation of the '2021 Child Policy Implementation Plan Performance' conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the 2nd.

The evaluation of the Child Policy Implementation Plan Performance consisted of 14 indicators in three areas: ▲appropriateness of plan establishment (15 points) ▲faithfulness of implementation (20 points) ▲achievement of results (65 points).

This evaluation was the first conducted after the establishment of the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 2nd Basic Child Policy Plan (2020?2024).

Gyeonggi-do received consistently high evaluations across all indicators, including 'faithfulness of implementation of the plan,' which assesses the establishment of a collaborative system involving related organizations.

Yoo So-jeong, head of the Child Care Division of the province, said, "This award recognizes the various child policies that the province has been promoting through external professional evaluation," and added, "We will continue to do our best so that all children in the province can live happily and safely."

Meanwhile, Gyeonggi-do is promoting various projects such as ▲developing and distributing child play programs to create an environment where children's right to happiness is realized ▲'Children Growing Up in the Forest,' which allows forest experiences at arboretums and other forest recreation facilities in the province ▲'Children's Healthy Fruit Supply,' which provides seasonal fruits to children using care facilities and home care within the province ▲and 'Self-Reliance Settlement Fund Support' for stable social settlement of youth preparing for independence (children who have aged out of protection).
