[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] A sequel to the 2015 film 'Veteran,' which attracted 13.41 million viewers, is being produced.


On the 2nd, CJ ENM announced that 'Veteran 2' (director Ryu Seung-wan) has cast Hwang Jung-min, Jung Hae-in, Oh Dal-soo, Jang Yoon-ju, Oh Dae-hwan, and Kim Si-hoo, and will begin filming this month.


The film is a crime action story depicting a new crisis faced by the seasoned detective Seo Do-cheol (Hwang Jung-min) and the veteran violent crime investigation team. Hwang Jung-min returns as detective Seo Do-cheol, and Jung Hae-in joins as the youngest detective Park Sun-woo of the violent crime investigation team. The detective team, including Oh Dal-soo, Jang Yoon-ju, and Oh Dae-hwan, who led the first film, will reunite to showcase strong chemistry.


At the reading session held on the 24th of last month, director Ryu Seung-wan said, "We will present stronger suspense and a different kind of thrilling excitement compared to the previous film," adding, "I am happy that the trusted staff and actors have gathered in one place, and we will do our best together."


Hwang Jung-min expressed his determination, saying, "I am excited and happy to meet the 'Veteran' team I worked with and the new members. We will pour our energy into filming diligently and greet audiences with a great film."
