Global Renowned Companies Noon.com, Astra, and Lulugroup Retail Visit Daegu... Attend Export Consultation Meeting Inviting Overseas Buyers Daegu EXCO, where the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Overseas Marketing Comprehensive Exhibition is being held.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] On the 2nd, Gyeongbuk Province is holding the '2022 Daegu··Gyeongbuk Overseas Marketing Expo,' an export consultation meeting inviting overseas buyers, jointly with the Korea International Trade Association Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Headquarters at Daegu EXCO.

This Overseas Marketing Expo is a representative buyer-invited export consultation meeting hosted by the Trade Association to commemorate the statutory holiday 'Trade Day' (December 5 every year), and has been held consecutively 15 times since 2008.

This year, by linking Seoul and Daegu·Gyeongbuk, it is being held as the largest pure buyer-invited inbound event in the Daegu·Gyeongbuk region since COVID-19.

For this event, 31 buyer companies from 18 countries including Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Southeast Asia visited our region, and more than 40 companies in Gyeongbuk from industries such as automobile parts, Internet of Things (IoT), cosmetics, food, and daily necessities participated.

In particular, Noon.com, an e-commerce company established based on the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund and called the 'Amazon of the Middle East,' visited Korea for the first time for this event and arranged meetings with local companies hoping to enter the halal market.

Astra Otoparts, affiliated with Indonesia's largest automobile group, and Lulu Group Retail, headquartered in the United Arab Emirates and expanding sales channels not only in the Middle East but also in Southeast Asia, visited Daegu and Gyeongbuk to discover excellent industrial and consumer goods.

An 'Excellent Local Products Display Stand' was set up inside the export consultation hall to promote K-cosmetics from the Daegu·Gyeongbuk region such as Korea BNC (functional cosmetics) and Rasa (all-in-one care), and a 'K-Food Tasting Event' was also prepared to introduce meal replacement products (AlAl-i Food) and health drinks (Organic With) exported worldwide to buyers.

Lee Dal-hee, Deputy Governor for Economy of Gyeongbuk Province, said, "Due to external factors such as the global economic recession and rising interest rates, our country's exports are losing overall momentum," and added, "Especially at times like this, we decided to proceed with a large-scale export consultation meeting at the end of the year with the mindset of sowing the seeds for export re-leap next year."
