[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] The Volunteer Center of Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam, held the '2022 Love Scarf Sharing Ceremony' on the 1st at the multipurpose hall of the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center.
The Namhae Library Volunteer Group, Namhae Office of Education Volunteer Group, Altteulang Volunteer Group, Happiness Plus Volunteer Group, and many individual volunteers completed 150 love scarves hand-knitted with care and warm hearts since the end of October.
In particular, starting this year, the significance is greater as interest in volunteering was increased by allowing a large number of general volunteers to participate through open recruitment.
A volunteer who has been living in the countryside for two years and attended the ceremony said, "This was my first time doing such volunteer work since I was born. Although it was hard to knit scarves at night after working during the day, it was a rewarding activity because I could give strength to those in need."
Jang Chung-nam, the county governor, said, "The Love Scarf Sharing Volunteer Work is not just about scarves but has established itself as a cultural tradition that continuously carries the warmth of the region."
The 150 love scarves produced are scheduled to be delivered to 150 underprivileged people in the area.
