Milk Tea Product Sales Increase by 60%
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Seven Eleven announced on the 2nd that it will launch its private brand (PB) Seven Select London Afternoon Milk Tea.
London Afternoon Milk Tea was a representative hit product that repeatedly sold out when it was first released in 2007, and it has been upgraded this time. It uses Sri Lankan black tea, known as one of the world's top three black teas, and domestic milk, creating a rich blend of strong black tea and smooth milk flavors.
Noting the recent popularity of milk tea among young women in their 20s and 30s, the package design was decorated with various emotional illustrations. According to Seven Eleven, milk tea product sales increased by 60% from January to November this year compared to the previous year. To commemorate the launch of this product, a ‘2+1 event’ is also being held this month, offering one free item with the purchase of two.
A Seven Eleven official said, “Milk tea has recently gained popularity mainly among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) at trendy cafes and on social networking services (SNS), which led to the launch of this new product.”
