[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province plans to sequentially provide 1.43 billion KRW in 'Rice Cultivation Farm Management Stabilization Funds' to 5,807 farms starting in December through administrative procedures such as account verification at the township and town offices where the farmland is located.
The Rice Cultivation Farm Management Stabilization Funds are additional payments provided to support farm management stability and maintain a sustainable rice production base, beyond the government-supported public direct payments. This year, the unit price supported per hectare for rice cultivation farms has increased by 75,000 KRW from last year to 431,000 KRW per hectare.
The support targets agricultural producers who reside in Gyeongnam Province and actually cultivate rice on farmland located in Geochang-gun to produce rice. Those excluded are individuals with non-agricultural income exceeding 37 million KRW, those with farmland area less than 0.1 hectares, those who have received farmland disposal orders, and those who occupy farmland without ownership.
County Governor Goo In-mo stated, “I hope that the Rice Cultivation Farm Management Stabilization Funds provided this time will help stabilize the income of farms struggling due to falling rice prices.”
