[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyuk-jun] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Bok-gyu) announced on the 1st that the "5th Honam Photo Academy Exhibition" will be held at Cheonsagwan from the 3rd to the 31st.
This photo exhibition showcases 64 works by 34 academy students.
The Honam Photo Academy is a photography education program that has been steadily conducted at Cheonsagwan in Hwasun since 2017. It has a superior curriculum, high student satisfaction, and the students' exhibitions and photographic records have received favorable evaluations.
The students devoted their skills, accumulated through theoretical classes and field trips to places hidden with Hwasun's history and stories such as Jeokbyeok, Unjusa, and dolmens, entirely to their submitted works.
Works by research group students who have been working on the theme of the "Yeongsan River" for a year form the main composition of the exhibition and attract attention.
The exhibition captures the dawn, daytime, and nighttime landscapes of Hwasun, Mokpo, Gwangju, Damyang, and Muan, traversing from the source of the Yeongsan River to its main and tributary streams.
One student said, "Although my skills are insufficient, I am glad to show the traces of my hard work," and added, "I hope to continue building my skills and participate in exhibitions continuously."
A county official said, "At the Cheonbul Cheontap Photo Culture Center, we provide academy programs to many people interested in photography," and added, "We will continue to promote free movie screenings and photography lectures to create cultural living conditions for the residents."
The exhibition at Cheonsagwan, located at the entrance of Unjusa Temple, is open to everyone free of charge. Operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and it is closed every Monday.
