"Taejang Releases 'Cheongjeongwon Kimchi Udon' Featuring Traditional Aged Kimchi"

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Daesang Cheongjeongwon announced on the 1st that it will launch a new product, "Kimchi Udon," which is perfect for eating warm during the winter season.

This new product is flavored with "Jongga" kimchi and beef bone broth. The kimchi, which plays the most important role in Cheongjeongwon's "Kimchi Udon," uses Jongga's aged-flavor kimchi. The aged kimchi, optimized to best complement the udon, is not subjected to any sterilization process, preserving its crunchy texture and featuring a clean taste without any off-flavors.

Cheongjeongwon Kimchi Udon adds a deep and spicy flavor by using a special kimchi sauce harmoniously blended with aged-flavor kimchi, savory beef bone broth, katsuobushi, and Sunchang chili paste. Additionally, to achieve chewy and soft noodles, the dough is prepared using the "Dagasoo Aging" noodle-making method, which involves adding plenty of water and aging the dough for a long time with steam at 90℃. The product is sold in packs containing 2 servings (568g), priced at 7,480 KRW.

A Daesang official stated, "In line with consumer trends seeking distinctive convenience foods, this product allows people to enjoy udon at a professional level easily at home with a simple cooking method," and added, "Since it is made with verified Jongga kimchi and a special sauce, we expect it to receive a positive response from consumers."
