[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Opposition lawmakers from the Moon Jae-in administration's Blue House condemned the request for an arrest warrant against former National Security Office Director Suh Hoon, stating that "the political persecution by the Yoon Seok-yeol government targeting the Moon administration's Blue House has become blatant."

On the 30th, 40 lawmakers from the Democratic Party of Korea, who are former members of the Moon administration's Blue House, issued a statement saying, "The prosecution and the Yoon Seok-yeol government are condemning measures that were taken normally and transparently according to principles as if they were organized crimes committed with prior collusion and concealment intentions."

They said, "The prosecution's claim that sensitive information was deleted to cover up the incident is nothing but speculation," adding, "The originals of the sensitive information that the prosecution claims were deleted still exist and are currently accessible."

They continued, "Adjusting the distribution line to minimize exposure of our information assets and to prevent sensitive information from spreading unnecessarily is part of normal information management. Rather, failing to implement this would be neglecting the responsibility to maintain security," and stated, "We only informed the public of the facts as they are; we never tried to label anyone as having defected to the North, nor was there any reason to do so."

Furthermore, they said, "The prosecution under the Yoon government is engaging in politics, not investigation," and added, "The prosecution's unreasonable attempt to detain individuals has already been proven unjust through the approval of the detention review for former Minister of National Defense Suh Wook and former Coast Guard Commissioner Kim Hong-hee."

The group of lawmakers declared, "The prosecution under the Yoon government is fabricating facts that do not exist and distorting facts that did, forcing the case to fit a prearranged scenario through excessive speculation and public opinion manipulation," and stated, "We will stand together until the substantive truth of the case is revealed, resisting unjust political persecution."
