Installation of Road Name Address Promotion Mailboxes Completed in 321 Households Across 13 Villages
Resident Response Positive with Road Name Address Usage and Clean Village Scenery Creation
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do, is receiving great responses from residents by removing old and damaged mailboxes in detached houses within the region and newly installing mailboxes displaying road name addresses.
On the 30th, the county completed the installation of mailboxes for road name address promotion in 321 households across 13 villages in the eup and myeon areas. The county selected target villages by eup and myeon, invested a budget of 13 million KRW to replace the mailboxes, and plans to select additional villages annually to install more mailboxes.
The newly installed mailboxes display the road name address on the front, creating a foundation for the natural use of road name addresses in daily life, as well as enabling prompt and accurate delivery of mail and parcels.
Village residents praised the removal of damaged and inconvenient mailboxes and the installation of convenient and practical mailboxes, which greatly contributes to creating a clean village landscape.
A county official said, “Although the road name address system has been fully implemented since 2014 and is now in the settlement phase, we will continue to make efforts to help residents use road name addresses more easily through various promotions tailored to residents’ perspectives.”
