Joo Sun-il, Buk-gu Council Member, Proposes Amendment Ordinance for Honoring and Supporting National Veterans Joo Sun-il, Gwangju Buk-gu Council Member.

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] The ordinance amendment titled "Partial Amendment to the Ordinance on the Courtesy and Support for National Veterans in Buk-gu, Gwangju," proposed by Joo Sun-il, a member of the Buk-gu Council of Gwangju (Unam 1, 2, 3-dong, Dongnim-dong), passed the Economic Welfare Committee review on the 30th.

This ordinance amendment was promoted to supplement the existing ordinance by specifically stipulating the budget support procedures for veterans' organizations, enhancing the rationality and transparency of subsidy budget execution, expanding the scope of support for the stabilization of living and welfare improvement of national veterans, thereby fostering pride in their contributions and establishing an institutional foundation to honor national veterans.

The main contents of the ordinance include ▲ the responsibility of the district mayor to establish a foundation for honoring national veterans ▲ specific stipulation of budget support procedures for veterans' organizations ▲ expansion of welfare support scope for national veterans, including the provision of free volume-based waste bags to national veterans aged 65 or older residing in Buk-gu.

Councilor Joo said, "It is the natural duty of the nation and its people to honor those who have sacrificed and contributed for the country and to commemorate their noble spirit," adding, "I will do my best to inherit and promote their patriotism."

Meanwhile, the ordinance, having passed the standing committee, is scheduled to be enacted after the resolution at the 3rd plenary session on the 15th of next month.
