Gajaju Liquor Launches Single Malt Scotch Whiskies "Glen Cadam" and "Tomintoul"

Gaja Trade/Gaja Liquor, a company specializing in liquor trade and distribution, held a launch event for the single malt Scotch whiskies Glen Cadam and Tomintoul on the 30th at the Four Seasons Hotel in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

At this launch event, Glen Cadam and Tomintoul single malt Scotch whiskies were released for the first time in Korea. Author Jeong Bo-yeon, who wrote "The End of the Day, Whiskey," hosted the event, which was attended by about 70 industry professionals including whiskey influencers, YouTubers, media, renowned bartenders, and experts.

Fergus Hartley, the commercial director of the two brands Glen Cadam and Tomintoul from Angus Dundee Distillers, an independent Scottish liquor company, visited Korea for this event to share the brand history and stories and to conduct a tasting session of the two brands.

Glen Cadam embodies the long-standing tradition and craftsmanship of the East Highlands, where all processes have been handcrafted since its establishment in 1825, while Tomintoul captures the pure nature of the Tomintoul distillery, located at the highest point in Speyside, known as the holy land of whiskey, receiving high praise from participants.

Glen Cadam single malt whiskey has been made using the same handcrafted process since its establishment in 1825, using the finest malt, spring water from The Moornas?the longest 14km water source among Scottish distilleries?and yeast. The distillery has rebuilt the waterwheel, which was used as a power source for 100 years, inside the facility and uses pot stills with pipes extending upward at a 15-degree angle. These traditional techniques passed down through generations create a delicate and rich tropical fruit and orchard-like complex and attractive flavor, offering a perfect balance.

Tomintoul single malt whiskey is produced at a distillery located at the highest point in the Cairngorms National Park. Using only the pristine and untouched ancient Ballanturan spring water and employing a massive still over 7 meters tall, nicknamed "Mighty," it embodies the natural environment of Scotland with a fruity aroma, delivering the "gentle dram" experience.

A representative from Gaja Liquor stated, "Glen Cadam, using the same handcrafted method since 1825, embodies history and tradition, showcasing the essence of East Highland single malt whiskey," while "Tomintoul is a smooth single malt whiskey that captures Scotland's pristine nature." They added, "The award-winning Glen Cadam and Tomintoul will captivate even the most discerning palates of Korean whiskey enthusiasts."

Glen Cadam and Tomintoul are available at Gaja Liquor franchise stores and nationwide retail outlets such as Homeplus, Lotte Mart, Lotte Super, Lotte Department Store, and CU convenience stores.
