Namwon-si Holds Kick-off Meeting for 'Mid- to Long-term Development Comprehensive Plan'

[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-gwon] On the 30th, Namwon City in Jeonbuk held a kickoff meeting for the ‘2040 Namwon City Mid- to Long-term Development Comprehensive Plan’ to envision the future of Namwon City, newly advancing through culture and future industries.

According to the city on that day, this 2040 Namwon City Mid- to Long-term Development Comprehensive Plan is being reestablished after seven years since the long-term comprehensive development plan was established in 2015. Its significance lies in setting the city’s mid- to long-term vision and development direction and presenting a blueprint for the future.

The city expects that the Jeonbuk Research Institute (Director Kwon Hyuk-nam), which will carry out the project, will produce a strategic business plan for Namwon City that highlights the city’s strengths and discovers projects linked to government policies and Jeonbuk Province’s administrative directions, as well as a practical project report.

Mayor Choi Kyung-sik requested the Jeonbuk Research Institute, the project agency, saying, “I hope that Namwon City and the Jeonbuk Research Institute will work together to discover new growth industries and strategic business development strategies that can lead Namwon City’s development and incorporate them into the mid- to long-term development comprehensive plan.”

Over the next 12 months, the city plans to conduct an in-depth analysis and include in the project plan the mid- to long-term vision and development direction of Namwon City, analysis of regional development conditions and potential, conceptualization of promotion strategies and implementation plans by zone, sector, and stage, discovery of new growth industries and ten strategic projects, diagnosis of financial structure, and financial investment plans.
