Gwangju Bank Holds Ceremony for Donating Women's Hygiene Products 'Pink Box'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Bank recently held a social contribution activity called ‘Pink Box with Gwangju Bank’ at its headquarters, attended by Song Jong-wook, President of Gwangju Bank, Kim Hyun-mi, Head of the Gwangju Regional Headquarters of the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, and Choi Sun-young, Chairwoman of the Gwangju Bank Female Employees’ Association Gaenarihoe. They delivered a total of 20 million KRW worth of ‘Pink Boxes’ to 100 vulnerable female adolescents in the region.


‘Pink Box with Gwangju Bank’ is a social contribution activity conducted by Gwangju Bank in collaboration with the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation to support female adolescents in the region who have difficulty purchasing feminine hygiene products due to economic hardship.


To this end, President Song and members of Gaenarihoe, the Gwangju Bank female employees’ association, prepared Pink Boxes consisting of 23 types of health and hygiene products such as feminine hygiene products, wet wipes, heating pads, body care products, and feminine cleansers. Additionally, the Gaenarihoe members personally made and delivered pouches.


President Song of Gwangju Bank said, “We conduct the ‘Pink Box with Gwangju Bank’ social contribution activity every year with our employees to ease the concerns of low-income female adolescents in the region who face difficulties purchasing hygiene products due to economic hardship,” adding, “Going forward, based on Gwangju Bank’s management philosophy of pursuing value beyond profit, we will take the lead in various social contribution activities including fostering local talent.”


Meanwhile, Gwangju Bank has continued the ‘Pink Box with Gwangju Bank’ social contribution activity since 2020 and has delivered a total of 55 million KRW worth of ‘Pink Boxes’ to date.
