[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] The Environment and Labor Committee held a subcommittee meeting on employment and labor law bills at 10 a.m. on the 30th, where the Yellow Envelope Act (Amendments to Articles 2 and 3 of the Labor Union Act) was prioritized for submission, leading to a direct clash between the ruling and opposition parties.

Im Eija and Park Daesu of the People Power Party expressed opposition to the bill's submission, but Kim Youngjin, Yoon Geonhyeong, Lee Sujin (proportional representation), Jeon Yonggi of the Democratic Party, and Lee Eunju of the Justice Party supported it, resulting in the bill being submitted by majority vote.

Im Eija, who opposed the bill's submission, stated, "I cannot participate in protecting illegal acts by law," which led to heated voices and shouting in the meeting room. Im said, "The opposition party is trying to participate in a law that is effectively for the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions with a majority of seats. I absolutely cannot agree."

On the other hand, Lee Sujin of the Democratic Party responded, "That is why we need to reduce disagreements and discuss the bill in the subcommittee," adding, "The People Power Party is neglecting its duties."

Im Eija and Park Daesu of the People Power Party, who opposed the submission of the bill by the Democratic and Justice parties, left the meeting room in protest.

Kim Youngjin, chairman of the Employment and Labor Law Bill Review Subcommittee and member of the Democratic Party, said, "President Yoon has declared a strict response to illegal strikes. Currently, the People Power Party is neglecting its duties regarding illegal strikes in the National Assembly, and we will respond according to National Assembly procedures."
