[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the government's issuance of a work commencement order related to the Cargo Solidarity strike on the 30th.

At the Democratic Party's Supreme Council meeting held at Seongdong-gu Office in Seoul on the same day, Lee said, "The first work commencement order related to the Cargo Solidarity strike has been issued," and criticized, "It appears to be an attitude of suppressing by force rather than alleviating and resolving conflicts through dialogue and negotiation."

Lee stated, "I urge a proactive attitude to minimize conflicts and actively engage in dialogue to resolve the issues."

The Democratic Party Supreme Council visited the comprehensive control center of Seongdong-gu on the day to observe Seongdong-gu's safety management system, which detects crises using CCTV and has a cooperative system with related agencies.

Regarding this, Lee said, "There is no copyright on public safety," and added, "I hope that local governments nationwide benchmark the safety system implemented in Seongdong-gu and use it effectively to protect the lives and safety of the people."
