The Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council announced on the 30th that it recently conducted training on emergency response procedures and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for Seo-gu Council members and all Secretariat staff in the main conference room on the second floor of the council building.
The training lasted for one hour and included detailed lectures and practical exercises covering everything from how to report emergencies to 119, CPR, and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).
Chairperson Ko Kyung-ae said, “Recently, there have been frequent reports of precious lives being rescued in a timely manner at various disaster sites, including the Itaewon tragedy, thanks to the cooperation and assistance of nearby citizens. Our Gwangju Seo-gu Council members and staff will also regularly conduct disaster response training so that they can fulfill their roles at any time to prevent loss of life.”
She added, “During the 308th regular session, the Social and Urban Committee approved the ordinance on outdoor event safety management as originally proposed.
