[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] On the 29th, Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, distributed the ‘Protocol Manual for Honoring Veterans' Families’ to each office, department, and town/village office to promote the culture of honoring veterans.
According to the county on the 30th, the ‘Protocol Manual’ was created as a unified manual tailored to the county’s circumstances by referencing the ‘Gochang-gun Protocol Guide’ and the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs’ ‘Protocol Guide for Veterans Commemorative Events.’
It includes not only the basic contents of protocol but also the placement of the Taegeukgi flag, the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, moments of silence, and methods of introducing guests.
It also covers the protocols of veterans organizations, which had been inconsistent during veterans events.
Additionally, under the 8th civilian administration, Gochang-gun plans to raise the Patriot and Veterans Allowance and construct an integrated veterans hall to establish a foundation for spreading a culture of remembrance and respect for veterans.
County Governor Shim Deokseop said, “With the distribution of the veterans protocol manual, the protocols of veterans organizations are expected to become clear,” and added, “We ask for the special interest of the residents so that the increase of the Patriot and Veterans Allowance and the construction of the integrated veterans hall, which aim to improve the treatment of national merit recipients, can be implemented promptly.”
