[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Papa John’s Korea announced on the 30th that it will launch the seasonal menu item, ‘Snowball Pizza,’ nationwide on the 1st of next month and sell it for a limited time of three months.
Snowball Pizza is a special menu featuring spicy meatballs placed on a tomato sauce base, topped with a rich cream and cheese sauce. The appearance of the round meatballs and the white cream and cheese sauce evoke a scene of snow gently piling up, while the sugar powder sprinkled on the crust adds a winter mood along with a sweet flavor.
This product was first introduced in the winter of the same year using a recipe that won the Excellence Award at the 2016 ‘Winter Special Recipe Contest.’ It has been well received for its visual appeal reflecting the season, its mild yet smooth taste, and the thick texture of the juicy meatballs, leading to its re-release for three consecutive years. Despite being a seasonal menu item sold only in winter, it is being brought back this year due to continuous customer demand.
To celebrate the year-end, a New Year calendar giveaway event will also be held. Interested customers who purchase a Snowball Pizza (large size or larger) along with a 1.25L Coca-Cola in a single transaction will receive a Papa John’s Pizza 2023 calendar for free. However, the number of calendars varies by store and may run out early.
The New Year calendar is a desk calendar featuring Papa John’s Pizza menu items. Each page lists a recommended pizza menu, cleverly linking the ingredients of each pizza with the characteristics of each month, and includes product names (letter illustrations) designed to evoke a desire to collect.
