Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the graduation ceremony for the Master Chef class of the 2nd Changwon Master Cooking School.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the graduation ceremony for the 2nd Changwon Master Cooking School Master Chef Class at 3 p.m. on the 29th at JK Convention in Jinhae.
The Changwon Master Cooking School Master Chef Class, which opened in 2021 and produced 24 first-generation graduates, held its second session this year, producing 19 second-generation graduates who completed eight months of cooking practice and management consulting education since its opening in April.
The Master Chef Class graduates, who are restaurant owners in the area, diligently attended classes despite the difficult conditions of balancing their livelihoods with studies, participating in the One Person One Menu Development Contest and the Changwon Food Culture Festival exhibition.
In particular, they achieved excellent results at the 2022 Korea World Food Championship national competition, earning the honor of receiving the Food and Drug Safety Administration Commissioner’s Award.
At the graduation ceremony, diplomas and special plaques of the Changwon Master Cooking School were awarded to the 19 graduates who faithfully completed the eight-month course, along with awards from the One Person One Menu Development Contest held on October 27.
Kim Jong-pil, Director of the Welfare, Women and Health Bureau, said, “I sincerely congratulate the honorable graduation of the 2nd Changwon Master Cooking School Master Chef Class. As master chefs representing Changwon’s dining industry, I hope you take pride and confidence and continuously strive to develop representative Changwon dishes, contributing to the development of Changwon’s dining industry.”
Kang Ho-sun, representative of the trainees, said, “I am grateful to Changwon City and Masan University for preparing the Changwon Master Cooking School curriculum. I will actively apply what I have learned to running my business and do my best to contribute to the development of Changwon’s dining culture.”
