KCCI "Work Commencement Orders Should Be Expanded to Sectors Beyond Cement"

Welcoming the Government's Decision

KCCI "Work Commencement Orders Should Be Expanded to Sectors Beyond Cement"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The business community has welcomed the government's order to resume work in the cement sector in relation to the strike by the Cargo Solidarity Headquarters of the Korean Public Service and Transport Workers' Union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions.

The Korea Employers Federation (KEF) stated in a press release on the 29th, "We are relieved that the government has issued a work resumption order in the cement sector to prevent a serious crisis in the national economy."

It added, "However, since other sectors such as steel, automobile, refining, and chemical industries, which are the foundation of our industry and exports and directly linked to the daily lives of the people, have also reached their limits, the government should actively consider expanding the work resumption order before the damage worsens."

The KEF urged, "The Cargo Solidarity must immediately stop the collective refusal of transportation, which lacks justification and legitimacy, return to work, and participate in normalizing logistics and overcoming the economic crisis." It also said, "We hope the government will strictly respond according to law and principles to the Cargo Solidarity's transportation obstruction and illegal acts occurring in industrial sites, thereby establishing the rule of law in the industrial field."
