90th Anniversary Founding Ceremony Held
Continuing Sharing of 100-Year Corporate Management Principles and Leadership
Major Affiliates Also Announce Future Strategies

The Next 100 Years of Dong-A Socio Group... "With New Trends, New Changes" Jaehoon Jung, CEO of Dong-A Socio Holdings, is giving a presentation on "Management Principles and Leadership of a 100-Year Company" at the Dong-A Socio Group's 90th anniversary ceremony.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Dong-A Socio Holdings announced on the 29th that it held a commemorative event to mark its 90th anniversary on the 1st of next month.


The ceremony was attended by representatives, executives, outside directors, and the chairman of Dongwoohoe, a group of retired employees, from a total of 13 companies including Dong-A Socio Holdings, Dong-A ST, Dong-A Pharmaceutical, ST Pharm, STGen Bio, Aven General Construction, DA Information, Dong-A Otsuka, Dongcheonsoo, Yongma Logistics, Suseok, Korea Shin Dong Industrial, and Chammed. All employees across the group participated in the ceremony via Zoom and YouTube live streaming.


This event was organized to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Dong-A Socio Group and to present a blueprint for preparing the next 100 years as a centennial company, under the slogan "New Flow, New Shift," going beyond the achievements and experiences of the past 90 years.


Jung Jae-hoon, CEO of Dong-A Socio Holdings, in his strategic presentation on "Management Principles and Leadership of a 100-Year Company," stated, "The role of the holding company, Dong-A Socio Holdings, is to discover and create tangible and intangible values within the group as a 'Group Value Creator.'" He added, "We will fully support the growth of group members and the company through sincere communication."


He continued, "We will actively implement management principles that uphold a strong sense of purpose and principles, and support creative thinking that enables disruptive innovation," emphasizing, "A proper leader needs leadership that can perform roles based on expertise, create an environment immersed in members' happiness, and provide a good influence as a role model to members through correct values."


Alongside this, presentations on "Future Preparation Strategies for the Next 10 Years" were made by key group affiliates. Park Jae-hong, Head of R&D at Dong-A ST, said, "We have selected key therapeutic areas such as cancer, immune and degenerative brain diseases, and will establish and execute strategies based on cooperation among research, development, and marketing divisions." He added, "We plan to build new R&D pipelines and create value by utilizing aggressive open innovation and business development such as venture capital (VC)."


Following this, Kim Kyung-jin, CEO of ST Pharm, explained, "ST Pharm is transitioning from chemical-focused contract manufacturing (CMO) to oligonucleotide nucleic acid therapeutic contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) and expanding into various fields." He added, "The development of the mRNA COVID vaccine is part of this effort, and we will continue to collaborate with related companies to establish Korea's infectious disease response strategy."


Finally, Baek Sang-hwan, CEO of Dong-A Pharmaceutical, stated, "To solidify our position as a consumer-centered healthcare specialist company, we aim to focus on securing business competitiveness, strengthening new businesses and new growth engines, and innovating processes." He added, "In the OTC (over-the-counter) sector, we will leap to become the 'No.1 Player' through securing professional research personnel and expanding R&D investment, and in the H&B sector, we will promote the development of large health functional food brands, strengthen functional daily necessities agency brands, and expand exports of derma cosmetics."
